General Information- Craft Vendors

The Island Folk Festival is a first year event that is working to encourage an ambience similar to that of the Kerrville Folk Festival. Our hope is to invite creative and supportive vendors to the Rio Grande Valley and Laguna Madre Area that will develop the festival feel. The South Padre Island area embraces the arts and vending of hand-crafted items (as opposed to imports). We are looking to grow a network of vendors who will return year after year for a great festival experience and returning festival-goers seeking your craft.

General Information- Food Vendors

This year we are also encouraging food sales both evenings of the festival. The 10x10 booths will be assembled with a built in bar top, canopy and 3 side panels. We hope that you can incorporate festival type foods into your menu. We are not allowing competing foods, therefore please complete your application ASAP and return to for approval. There are specific regulations the Health and Code Enforcement Department of SPI has to ensure proper preparation, holding and safety. You must comply with the Texas Food Establishment Rules and accept an inspection of by the SPI Health Code Dept. before beginning to sell. Inspection will be roughly around 4:00pm on Friday.

If you have an established business and are preparing foods for the event site, you must properly maintain proper food temperatures. All other vendors must prepare food on site. Please fill out the SPI Health Code Application and review the Texas Food Establishment Requirements (TFER). All vendors also must have a valid Texas Food Handler's license.

Festival Dates Times

Sept. 5 & 6 , 2014 Music Starts at 6:15 PM on both nights and ends at 2:00 AM. Please note: The Craft area is open Friday from 5:00 pm- 1:00 am and Saturday from 3:00 PM- 12:00 AM. Your booth must be open and staffed on both of these nights during the hours of 6:00 PM-12:00PM.

Booth Space

The Craft area is located at 101 Laguna Blvd. directly in front of Laguna Bob's area and next to the Louie's backyard venue. There is one other area in between the Laguna Bob's venue and Tequila Sunset venue. Food booths are 10'x10' . They are 3 sided, with a canopy and a built in bar area. Craft booths are 8'x8' unless requested otherwise. 10'x10' charge will apply.

Booth Fees

8 ft. x 8 ft. Craft booth- $150
10 ft. x 10ft. Food booth- $200
(Payment will be due after approval of items sold and will be used to secure your booth position).

Application Deadline

All applications and payment is due by August 25, 2014.

Prohibited Sale Items

You may not sell anything that may be constructed as drug paraphernalia, explosive material or alcohol.

You will receive confirmation within 3 weeks of receipt of your application. A detailed information packet will be emailed to all vendor participants approximately 2 weeks prior to the festival.
